The Oscillation

And why the hell hasn't anyone told me about this band before. It's dope, psychedelic and at times beautiful. Or perhaps I just miss Stone Roses, Charlatans and Primal Scream? But still, please go listen to Head Hang Low!

I'm slighty ill today

So I've been listening to the new (old) Neil Young, which is alright, though I'm not quite sure it's the masterpiece people tell me it is. And some cool shit from MC Esoteric found via imageyenation (love that place).

Which reminds me of us...

...smoking through the foreplay. This is old hat, but I'm posting it, because:
1: I have the worst hangover after a company thing last night.
2: It's the best opening line of a song ever.
3: Mas Gambios is the best album ever.
4: Herman Düne played the best concert I've ever seen.
5: I've convinced Jakmik that they're fantastic too :-).

And what the hey, here's another one:

And crap apparently doesn't come alone...

First, the goddamn forthcoming elections, then Liverpool FC losing to Besiktas. And now the return of Aqua!? And I'm all out of beer! Someone take me somewhere nice:

(where they're not fond of Smashing Pumpkins either, thank you very much).

Crap...

Elections on November 13th. And that most probably means four more years with A. Fogh which is a tough one, if you ask me. Still, I'll do my best and work voluntarily for a friend of mine who's a member of another party. But that means bizarre working hours for the next three weeks, since I also have a "normal" job + a few things to do with ONBC. So Bob's your uncle, I might as well capitulate, emigrate or whatever. And listen to this while I do so:

Phew...

I'm so unbelievably tired. But what a nice weekend! Concert on Friday: splendid company and the band called Lasse & Lasse was rather cool. Recording on Saturday: went swell, we just need to fix some minor details. And the rest of Saturday was very nice too, friends came over, and we had Vodka Lemonade, beer, red wine and burgers and listened to music from the good old days :-). And on Sunday we moved all our (and mostly epo-555's) gear to another studio. And screw that, I wrote about them before and I nicked the song from Pitchfork, but I adore it, so I'll post it anyway (and it used to be my mother's favourite song, so I've heard it a million times, when I was a boy).

I'm on fire

etc. etc....

Loads of things to do this weekend. Tomorrow I'll be going to klubklub to hang out with friends, listen to some music and get the occasional drink. And Saturday we'll be recording the last bits and pieces for a hotter than hot cover version of a song from 1981 (and we're almost talking disco here, so we're very excited!). And after that we'll hang out with some other friends and perhaps get the occasional drink there too :-).

And two songs by the motifs (rather cool, Australian, sounding like Pipas).

Migration

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Coast Is Clear has the rather nice tendency of bringing good news. In this case it's the fact that the entire new, and not yet released, album by Sambassadeur is being streamed on last.fm. It's called "Migration" and it's marvellous. A bit more simple and a bit more organic, perhaps, than what they're usually up to, but just as melodic and beautiful as always. So we're digging it this evening for sure.

The hype

Yes, I know there's a Chromatics hype, but this Kate Bush-thing is so beautiful, that it almost makes me wanna cry.

Agent Ribbons

I've been listening to this band for the last year or so. It's not the sort of music that I would usually listen to, but somehow this got to me. It's a mixture of folk, pop, lo-fi and cabaret and it's just great really. And the voice of the front singer (Lauren Hess, I presume, otherwise Natalie Gordon, since they're the two members) is wonderful (and slightly odd in a cool way, if you ask me). Two songs below. And Myspace.

Edit: not two songs here, since the fileden is mocking me (aaargh!). But downloadable via Myspace.

DAMPFBAHN!

Yay, the DAMPFBAHN! remix compilation is up on da net! Look and download here! Loads of cool bands appearing, such as Zvook Mescalin, Forest & Crispian, A Kid Hereafter and etc. etc. And we appear too (and had so much fun doing the remix :-)). And I have my son this weekend, so I can't go, but DAMPFBAHN! is actually playing at Lade's Kælder tomorrow. Along with Bodebrixen. So do go and dance and kill, as they say.

City man, it's time to get a move on...

Wow. And wow again. They're called The Glass Beads, they're from Liverpool and I'm blown away (Merseybeat/late sixties acoustic/psychedelic are the words to remember). Go to their Myspace. Now. Or some other day, but just go there.
