I'll be moving over here: http://boomboxhearts.blogspot.com/
The reason? Well, it's what I do most of the time anyway, so... And I'll still rant about crap football teams as Brøndby, Roma and Liverpool (though at the moment I'm loving St. Pauli), show videos and perhaps even reintroduce the concept of the erratic behaviour of a drunken man, 'cos it was kinda fun.
I'll also be drumming a bit here: http://tempomatador.blogspot.com/
See you on the other side :-).

X sessions and more...
Damn, I'm tired. Rehearsing + a few beers apparently ain't no good on a Thursday. But good news:
And we'll be playing a semi-acoustic concert next Thursday on Nørrebro Bryghus, too.
But tonight: Doing stuff on Facebook, having a bit of red wine and writing some lyrics. And relaxing. And tomorrow just finishing the crap novel I'm reading now.

Yay, first "real" concert last Friday! And it went well, everyone was happy, we had beers and ended at Jolene's for a dance or two. Pictures here.
On Saturday we went to another party, had beers and a dance or two, too.
And forget about Broken Social Scene, this is what I'm gonna do on the 22nd of November!!!:

Roskilde!
That was fun! Beautiful people, beautiful music, beautiful whatnot. Best concerts: Beach House, Pavement, Prince. Saw pretty cool stuff from Gonjasufi, Kellermensch and LCD Soundsystem too. Titus Andronicus and Motörhead played the same song 20 times. And C.V. Jørgensen was nice and comfy and just what you needed at the time.
Apart from that just hanging out and having huge amounts of fun! And thanks to CJ for the late, late, late mixtape ;-):

Off tomorrow! Nothing much planned, just:
I'll be bringing shorts this year, as it seems it'll hit 30 degrees.
I'll try to drink less beer and more water :-).

World Cup Special 1994
Oh, the misery! Baggio played a beautiful tournament and Italy reached the final. And lost!
(I actually had to go powder my nose / cry a bit in the bathroom after Baggio's missed penalty :-)).

World Cup Special 1990
Oh yeah! Here starts my fascination for the Italian team. Or rather, it actually started two years earlier, when my father invited me to Germany to see the European Championships and Italy beat Denmark 2-0 (jpg-manja-Jesper and CJ will hate this, but I also won 800,- guessing the result ;-)). Anywho, in 1990 I understood tactics and since I'd always been a defender, I really liked the Italian cool defence, the technically skilled midfield and especially the role of the trequartista or number 10. Or in this case the number 15, here's a tribute to my all time favourite player, he was kinda strange, a Buddhist and had the weirdest haircut (hence his nickname "The Divine Ponytail").
Apart from Baggio the tournament was crap, though. Boring as hell and Germany won. And here's the sad story of the English exit:

World Cup Special 1986
This is fun :-). 1986 was the first "real" World Cup for me. I watched most of the games or at least saw the sports news and read the papers, so I was able to make my own statistics. Yup, it's slightly insane, but I just located 10 pages with my tournament facts:
1: I had my own grading system ranging from 1 ("bad") to 9 ("super fantastic world class").
2: I really liked Careca, so he became the best player of the tournament, ahead of Maradona :-).
3: Because of Careca, Brazil was my team (when they lost the game against France, my notes say: "ooooooooh noooooooo. SHIT"). Here's the game in question:
Naturally, I was also a fan of Denmark. And was really, really pleased that Germany didn't win (despite making a pretty amazing comeback like in 82). Here's the final:

World Cup Special 1982
Well, I looooove the World Cup, so I've decided to make a Special series of all the World Cups I've seen. Here's the first match I vividly remember watching:
It's well known for the German comeback and the insane Schumacher tackle on Battiston. Other facts from that year:
My favourite team was Argentina, because they had the coolest jerseys (I had a large poster from BP with all teams hanging in my room).
I watched the first part of the tournament in Denmark and the rest in Norway. And I really liked that Italy (now that Argentina didn't) took the trophy, as my father was a fan of Germany and you sort of never like the same stuff as your parents.
My Norwegian uncle named his dog Rossi after the topscorer of the tournament. Here he is in another classic from that year (and I'm pretty sure that I saw the game in Skive on my way to Norway, but I might be wrong on that one :-)):

Ten Feet Up...
And Norway was nice, indeed! Now I'm back to finding jobs that I'd like to have. And writing lyrics. While I've been doing that I've been spending a bit of time in here. It's Copenhagen X Sessions and it's pretty goddamn cool, check this out for instance:
And yay, Boombox did one too, which will be up later (and I'm very, very much looking forward to the Monkey Cup Dress session!!!).

Birthday...
Yup, turned 35 on Friday. Wonderful evening with friends, beer and dancing! Saturday on the other hand was spent with friends, beer, art stuff and crap telly! Today I've steered clear of the beer and instead written a near perfect pop song and had a long walk in the sun :-). And been listening to this:

Whopeeee....
The Popfest was huge fun! We played pretty goddamn cool for a first concert, so we were very happy! And afterwards hanging out, drinking beers and for some reason Fernet Branca. And saying hi to Stytzer (always a pleasure!) and having fries with ooh ooh ooh ooh (always a pleasure, too :-)!).
Check this video btw, I'm guessing that the cameraman is, well a man :-):

Pretty much perfect, when you're having a day off to write applications (which means copy-pasting / drinking coffee / playing a bit of guitar / sitting and looking out the window).

Friday, please...
Yup, we'll be having a combined dinner / rehearsal with The Boombox Hearts tomorrow. Much fun, I think.
Stream the new Serena Maneesh, btw.
And I'm thinking that this will be an indie disco floorfiller this year. Sounds like New Order meeting noise from hell meeting disco and a weird beat:

LCD Soundsystem
Yup, there's a new one out. It's pretty goddamn cool, if you ask me, rather Beatles- / Lennon-ish in a good way!
And back to coffee and Orhan Pamuk. I really don't know, whether I find his novel "The Museum of Innocence" well written or appallingly badly written, but I'll give it a hundred or so more pages before deciding. Lazy Tuesday, oh yeah!

I've rediscovered Chromatics (the DJ played a song after the Beach House concert):
And done nothing this weekend. Just a bit of laundry, some coffee at Kalaset and writing lyrics for yet another sad song :-).

Rehearsing...
Beach House, dancing, Grotten / mixing Boombox, 20ies party / Bang & Jensen, rehearsing, Props / job, rehearsing / job, rehearsing, Harbo Bar. That's my calendar since Friday, so just a wee bit tired today. So I've taken the day off just to relax and do some cleaning and that sort of thing around the house.
And I think I forgot to mention that I bought this mighty fine book by Sarah Bodil Hansen (very cool drawings, if you ask me).

Charlotte Kalla...
I love The Winter Olympics. Especially Cross Country Skiing and Ice Hockey. And I'm always hoping that the Swedish athletes will win. Like Charlotte Kalla (gold the other day). Or Anna Haag (silver yesterday). So I'm gonna skip Rust tonight and watch stuff from Vancouver, while sipping some wine and writing lyrics for a song with a Chinese / Morricone sort of theme.

Gårdshult...
More pictures here. And the trip was cooler than cool. In more ways than one, as it was 3 degrees below inside, when we arrived. But after some initial technical problems, we played and played and etc.. And recorded quite a few pretty cool songs.
And the house and the surroundings were magnificent (and we made pizzas in the stone oven :-)). Oh, and Halmstad seems a nice city. And the trip was almost a complete fail, as the we were stopped by the police for driving a car without proper papers (fault of the rental company, though, so we were allowed to drive on). And Saturday started with a leaking gas oven, which was a bit scary, to say the least (and nauseating, too).
And for the last two days I've been recording bongos, tambourines, shakers and whatnot with Mikkel. And drinking beer while doing that, so completely knackered today. So apart from perhaps going to Rust din Røv tomorrow, I ain't gonna do nothing this weekend.
Wednesday, February 10, 2010
Tonight's the night...
Or actually, no. But on Friday Mikkel Max & Drømmenes Bodega will be going to Sweden to record as many songs as possible! I can't believe how much I'm looking forward to that, it's gonna be splendid and then some. And right now, I'm making a cd for the trip. This one's on it:

Yay! And double yay! I've been trying to find this song for ages (couldn't remember the title):
And what a beautiful night. Köttbullar at Kalaset, and then Props, Drone, Oak Room, Gefährlich, Understellet. And snow, snow, snow.

Wow...
Wild day. Due to the financial crisis I didn't get my contract renewed, so now I have until May to find out whether I should find a new job or work fulltime as a musician for the rest of the year. Hmmm, dunno.
And Boombox will be playing the first concert at the Copenhagen Popfest, yay!
And stream the new Beach House, pleeeeease! It's soooooo great!

I would like to be the dude in the middle. And I might just keep on posting about Warpaint, it's a very, very, very cool EP (think Blonde Redhead, The Cure and psychedelia and then just buy it).
And momma, I'm tired. Beers on Friday. Rehearsing and beers yesterday.

New Year's was great. And then just recording. Soooo.... Two new Boombox Hearts songs via this blog.
And TIRED! Managed to make Pasta Puttanesca and now I'm just gonna relax. Read some P.D. James, perhaps. And sleep.
Oh, and watch this video (via It's a trap):
